Go figure the odds! Asteriod now likely to hit the Earth!

CNN - Apparently last month, one of Trump's secret spy satellites collided with the asteroid named 52768 (1998 OR2) which is estimated to measure 2.5 miles (4.1km) across. This Mount Everest sized chunk of rock was supposed to near miss the earth on April 29, but now appears to be headed for a direct collision on or about April the 29th!

Needless to say, this probable mass extinction event will likely put a huge damper on the November 2020 election cycle, as few if any humans, are expected to survive to that point in time! Chuck Schumer, in a prepared statement, told CNN that Trump was now in fact, a 'true existential threat' to the entire world! He then announced his retirement.

The asteroid, which is now estimated to be traveling at 19,461 mph or over 25 times the speed of sound, is thought by experts to be 'pretty darn hard' to stop or divert in the time allowed. They've recommended that the US call for an April month long National Holiday with everything being free of charge! Bernie Sanders was all smiles concerning this development with Joe Biden also accusing Trump of engineering this disaster as a means of avoiding a Presidential Debate! CNN, meanwhile, has announced all day long coverage of when the asteroid hits as a way to raise their ratings.

There is just a small chance that the asteroid will skim by just over the surface, and then rocket back out into space. Unfortunately, it would be taking most of the earth's atmosphere with it. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but it's hard to spin this event up into a better light!

Lastly, this just in. In a surprising twist, it was just confirmed that the satellite was a joint effort conceived of and launched by Russia and Trump, over a year ago, with it's destination being Uranus.

Feburary 4th asteriod near miss!

Just imagine an asteroid that is larger than the world trade center in NY crashing into the earth! NASA scientists state that the consequences of such an event would be 'dire'. Well, just such a space rock, dubbed 2002 AJ129 will be thundering by our planet on February the 4th, cruising along at about 67,000 mile per hour! Comparing that speed to a speeding bullet traveling at 1700 mph give one the idea that this mother is really in a big hurry!

Although the rock will almost certainly not collide with us, as long as it remains within its current trajectory, scientists have previously warned that such an impact could have a dire impact on our planet. (It's been recently noted that some asteroids can experience sudden and explosive out gassing events that can and do change trajectories of such 'astro-bodies' in unpredictable ways)!

"These would not be pleasant times," Charles Bardeen, of the National Center for Atmospheric Research said during a presentation at the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

A 2016 study found that the impact of a slightly smaller space object would bring about a mini Ice Age. Temperatures would fall across the planet as much as 8 degrees Celsius. The effects would last for several years, leading to potentially severe devastation around the globe, not to mention the havoc caused by the initial impact.

Earth to get a close shave!

An asteroid the size of a house is set to give Earth a close shave, and you can watch part of the space rock's approach live online this evening (Oct. 11 at 7PM CST).

There's no danger of an impact by 2012 TC4 on this pass, astronomers stress. But the space rock will get quite close, coming within a mere 31,200 miles (50,200 kilometers) of Earth's surface, according to the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies, which is based at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. For perspective: The moon orbits Earth at an average distance of about 239,000 miles (384,600 km). That be dag nab-bit close!

Astronomers estimate 2012 TC4 to be 39 feet to 89 feet (12 to 27 meters) wide. That puts it in the same general size class as the object that exploded over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk in February 2013, injuring more than 1,000 people. So, were it to hit earth, only about a thousand might get injured. No big deal, right?
