Some political commentary, a little science & reviews on fast food and maybe a few songs! Got a problem with that? OK, so I'm an acquired taste...

Lou Raymond at the Frosted Mug!
Forsyth MO - On Friday, July 7, the Frosted Mug will be hosting musician Lou Raymond from 7PM to 11PM. A show that some I talked to called 'unique'. I planned to be on hand to see this show even as it was going to be way past my bedtime.... Lou is a Vet who currently resides in Protem MO. He told me that he has been performing at the Mug, off and on, for decades.

French Dip and fries at the Mug! Perfect!
French Dip - In American
cuisine, the French dip sandwich, also known as a beef dip, is a hot
sandwich consisting of thinly sliced roast beef on a "French
roll" or baguette. It is usually served au jus, that is, with
beef juice from the cooking process. And where did this bit of perfection originate, why right here in America of course!
So, what goes really good with a French
dip besides a side of crunchy French fries? Why a genuine American dip like
myself! Seriously, the 'Dip' is served every
Tuesday at a special price (currently $6.50) at John's Frosted Mug and it's one of my favorites! Everything about
this very affordable meal is simply perfect! So much so, that I make the Mug a
regular venue to visit just so I can enjoy a little bit of beefy
heaven!

A bacon melt sandwich at the Frosted Mug!
Forsyth MO – While sitting at
a local watering hole on an otherwise slow Memorial Day weekend. A
good friend offered to share with me a grilled sandwich that he had
prepared for himself. He had no name for it, I look closely and
confirmed that there was bacon, tomato and that appeared to be jack
cheese sandwiched nicely between two slices of grilled Texas toast!
The first name that came to my mind was 'bacon melt'!
While this creation by chef Louis Murray was
not on the John's Frosted Mug menu, it probably should be! The
picture above is an approximation as I did not have my camera with me
at the time. I'm hoping they might consider offering this taste sensation sometime in the
future!
