River Run looking good for 2014 season!

It's May, the weather has warmed and the grass has been cut! River Run Park is now open for business and it's missing just one thing – you!

I stopped there this day to have a quick lunch while watching the Bull Shoals river move on by. There were a few boaters out there, even though it was a bit on the windy side. River Run is a quiet place where you can come to relax while still being in easy driving distance to the wonder shows the the nearby town of Branson!

Just released survelliance photo! What's going on here?

What's going on here? This just released surveillance photo shows what could be; 1) a meth lab, hippie commune or 3) some kind of terrorist hangout! Perhaps it's even all three! What is known is that attack dogs roam the area around both RV's and they will certainly 'go for the throat' as the writer of this post can attest from direct experience! In addition, cars are seen to routinely stop for 'a short period of time' before departing for parts unknown.

One person I spoke with on the scene stated, 'Whatever happens, it will most likely end in gunfire!'

Local authorities have also indicated that 'their hands are tied' with regards what to do about the possible shady dealings going on in one or both of the RV's.

A blurry telephoto taken of one of the suspects (at right) seems to confirm the thinking that these are possibly desperate and truly ugly men bent on doing who knows what!

My question.. what is wrong with those other four judges!

Recently, the Supreme Court has upheld the right of local officials to open town council meetings with prayer, ruling that this does not violate the Constitution even if the prayers routinely stress Christianity.

The court said in a 5-4 decision Monday that the content of the prayers is not critical as long as officials make a good-faith effort at inclusion. You can read the entire article here!

What concerns me personally, are the four Supreme Court judges that voted against any form of prayer. What's wrong with these people? I'm actually surprised that they didn't insist on having a Satanic ritual complete with the killing of a goat as a necessary part of these town meetings!

Asteroid narrowly misses Earth on May 3rd. Does this even trouble anyone?

A small asteroid about the size of a city bus zipped by Earth at a range closer than the moon early Saturday (May 3, 2014), but posed no threat to our planet.

The newly discovered asteroid 2014 HL129 came within 186,000 miles (299,338 kilometers) of Earth when it made its closest approach on Saturday morning, which is close enough to pass between the planet and the orbit of the moon. The average distance between the Earth and moon is about 238,855 miles (384,400 km).

The asteroid is about 25 feet (7.6 meters) wide, according to NASA's Asteroid Watch project based at the agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. It made its closest approach to Earth at 4:13 AM EDT (0813 GMT).

While this particular rock would never pose a threat to our planet even if it were to hit (too small). I have to wonder how well a grip our scientists have on potentially much larger rocks that may be hurtling our way? Specifically, is there a scenario where we'd only get about a weeks notice before something the size of Mount Everest hit us? And, how would that be presented on the evening news?
