A blind man who had never had sight in his life
happened unto another man who professed to see clearly.
The blind man listened carefully
as the sighted man talked of blue skies and other wonders.
'Sir', said him. 'What are these wonderful colors you talk of'?
The sighted man, smiled down at him in a benign fashion.
'Why, you poor blind wretch, I can see clearly and you cannot!' How could I possibly answer you?
To which the blind man responded... 'Perhaps by being blind
of the sights of this world, which have been withheld from me,
so doth sharpen my soul in matters withheld from thee.'
