Moody Blues. This universe complete...

Circa 70's. A band known as the Moody Blues who sang songs that reverberate with me even unto this day! Coming to a country near you, the Church of the Holy Prism.

Moody Blues - Ride My Seesaw! What?

I always thought that seesaws were pretty much pointless as a youth. Two points and fulcrum, seemingly to offer some naive pair of humans a cyclic and silly ride?? And, then I woke up, seeing formulas so pure! God! You're a prick, so sick yet ingeniously near....

Now understanding anew, these times are troubling and blue . Please send me guns, booze and smart lawyers too.... Uh no, fuck the lawyers, a very loose woman will do!

[Self-styled poets like moi suck, we all tend to think way too much! God bless the US!]

Moody Blues - Knights in White Satin!

 A definite full screen experience!

For what's it's worth, I did stand on a stage with this group, (they were not performing at the time, just practicing prior to a performance). It was in a suburb of Chicago (Barrington, IL?), it was hot and I was called to attend to a lighting problem due to a Macintosh malfunction.. fixed it with a very low tech fan... no biggie. I do remember that the drummer asked my to 'take that damn tie off', as I was sweating so badly! - Like I said a long time and far ago... But, a momentary brush even if ever so fleeting, with something like this... It has a lasting effect.

In Search of the Lost Chord!

Ignoring the fact that physicists mostly all concur that each humans life is etched forever from beginning to end in space time, and the only reason we cannot clearly see the future and only dimly remember the past is the way the brain parses out events. We can only focus on an event horizon of the here and now, a bit of an illusion in of itself as there is really no here and now. The true connection to the past, in my view, is the sense of smell. No matter how dim a past event, I can always focus on the smell of that moment. The smells of freshly cut grass, the scent of a first love and that really bad meal you had in grade school, all help to focus our mind on days gone by. That said, our individual future are also there for us to see. And, that reality our minds close off with desperate hope.

Moody Blues - On the Threshold of a Dream!

In many ways I think we are magnetic, and perhaps we all need to face piles of trials with smiles... and so move on!I love my country.
Please, sit back and relax in your easy chair - and do listen, as this video/dash audio might invade and even perhaps reset your reality ...

Are you sitting comfortably, as Merlin casts his spell? Live hand in hand, and together, we will stand on the threshold of a dream...

Watching and waiting! As a whole generation wonders what happened to the American Dream!

This old song, by the Moody Blues, encompasses some of what I feel it was to be an American in times past. The key words, for me, are ' there's no one here to stop you - from trying'. Back then, we 'went for it' and created wild companies that did crazy things, with a tiny government looking on, that was powerless to stop what became the Industrial Revolution and the birth of a powerful Republic!

Today, Americans are being frustrated and discouraged by a bloated, dysfunctional and even cancerous government the is squeezing the life out of all! Please, let us all work together to fix this!

[Note: I didn't bother to try and download and then link this iconic song directly from my YouTube account - as the ads they promote, like carrion flies that are now on every song, are not worth the time of my audience, small though it may be]!

Moody Blues - Isn't Life Strange!

A chance encounter with true fame, no matter how ephemeral or brief it might be, leaves a special 'mark' that adheres to one's self forever more... [A memory snip - I was at a place called Quick Silver on the Hwy 51 strip in Carbondale. The year was 1970 and this song played on the jukebox. I looked out the window, on the street and saw you for just a second. Your name was SZ and I will never forget you....]

Moody Blues with Isn't Life Strange!

A long time ago, back in the 80's, I had the opportunity to help this band with a problem involving a McIntosh computer that controlled their light show at an event just outside of Chicago. Yes, I fixed the problem..with a simple fan. Isn't it strange, how life throws people together...even if for but a second? For me, personally, this song was popular at a time when I was a student at SIU in Carbondale IL and remember one wonderful afternoon when I actually viewed heaven on earth in the form of a woman whose name was Susan Zimmer! Nothing came of that...just a turn of the page...
