Jesus in Gethsemane Park!

As this crazy world swirls around us all. Sometimes, we may forget what is really important!
We are all made in His image, I believe. Our start is at birth, our transition is at death.
The span of each of our existences, very precious in this world
and yet..

Perhaps, just the first minute of forever in His!

'Praise God and rejoice to know that the Creator, His Son and the virgin Mary
are with each of us, for this and each second of our lives:

All our trials of body, those good times and bad. The fears we all have, the pains we all garner with age...
And, when the darkness closes in on each of us, at the end of day.
And, when it all seems so pointless. A new dawn breaks.

Have great joy, everyone!

For, God is the Light, the Way and the Course forward,
Forever!' Duh

A side note from me, they don't thech typing in heaven or here on earht!
Just better times...'DanO is an idiot' - God. BTW Dan calls me Skippy! WTF?

Some Italian cooks needed in Forsyth!

Forsyth MO. - OK, so my little town of Forsyth supports a pretty wide range of restaurants, (as of early 2018). We had us a couple of fast food joints, two bars and eateries that supported most kinds of cuisine including Asian, American and Mexican. But, I felt that we still lacked one gender of food that I had come to miss - Italian. A few of you might know the kind of place I'm talking about - venues that were most always dark with heavy red drapes and food to die for!

Where I grew up in Chicago, there was a time when I hung out with a few firemen from an Italian suburb. Sundays were special in that we'd like to meet at a little Italian place for a two to three hour repast that included clams on the half shell, pasta in all its various forms and garlic bread washed down with lots of alcohol! Those were good times and I'd love to see a similar enterprise set up shop in my current town!

Oaxaca Mexican Restaurant!

Oaxaca is a city in central Mexico. It’s known for its colonial buildings, many of which are made from green volcanic stone. The central Zócalo square features the Palacio de Gobierno, with colorful murals depicting regional history. Alameda de León square faces the ornate facade of the Catedral de Oaxaca. The 16th-century Templo de Santo Domingo church has a rich baroque interior and an adjoining former convent.

Forsyth MO, - the first quest that came to my mind when I did a quick stop to check out the fairly new Mexican restaurant and bar located at 15553 Hwy 160 (near the intersections of Hwy 160 and Coy Blvd) was not about the food but the name OAXACA?? Ergo, see the opening statement.  Cool and so THEN I wondered about the food and just what sort of libations were to be had.  When I entered, I asked the clerk if I could have a take home menu. She promptly handed me one of the most elegant menus I'd ever laid my eyes on!

Note that the menu pages shown had items and prices that were accurate at the time I posted this blog. Like everything, they will likely change with time!

The other question I had concerned alcohol. What a surprise, they also had a side room that sported a minimal bar along with a few tables scattered about. How nice. I was told that they served both hard liquors as well as an assortment of beers. They even had a large flat screen over the bar area to enjoy!

My opinion after my initial take, was that this could well turn out to be a popular venue for locals and visitors alike!

Be sure to check out my coming review of the food when I go there for lunch! That's coming soon!

Walk away. The Four Tops!

Racial prejudice is a learned thing. God kicks us into this world willy nilly with little to no regard for physical attributes like skin color, height, sex or any other attribute. This world, into which we are all dumped via our mother's birth canal, is what it is. A very small fraction of us happened to land in a place called America and at a time of incredible comforts and technological marvels. Go figure!

But here's bottom line. Life will suck for many of us. Life will be unfair, (if you live long enough). Yet, time will move, moment to moment and from cradle to grave. And, it doesn't help anyone very much, if you spend that short time focusing on you're neighbors f'ing skin color!

'The fabric of existence I did so mold.
A universe of dreams to yet be foretold.
My finest creations born, part of a Holy key.
Two beings, one half of a part of Me,
Even to this day, I watch what they yet might be!

Where am I this day? I am the dawn of each day of your lives.
My Children, walk, live and love, for I am with you forever and ever!
Duh, I'm the frigging Sun!'

Oh, and that was God's words. Truth!
As told by a village idiot
who was given cherry pie on this day.

A simple sort of lunch menu offering!

Here's a combo lunch item that I've enjoyed for many years. It's composed of a hot dog, a slice of toast and a 1/2 cup of Pork and Beans! It goes together very quickly and adds only about 300 calories! A good lunchtime choice that is also economical! I also included a simplified nutritional panel whose only sore point is the rather high levels of sodium...

Wilco. I'll fight!

This video compilation is all about America today. It's about the heart of good Americans everywhere, and why we will always fight even to the death, to preserve our freedoms!

God Bless the United States, and damn to Hell those who seek to destroy the millions who have sacrificed themselves on the anvil of freedom!

Good men will always seek to find good women and then will hope to begin a family. And so, a community does arise. Add just a dose of luck, some hard work and a church in which to center our hopes and...well enough said by this aged gnome...

Where is God today? He's here, He's always been with us through the years. We walk, live and love under His light. For He is the bright star shining above our heads every day in our worst of times and in the best of our times!

'Did you really think I'd let you all hang out to dry?
Every little thing is gonna be alright!'

Susan Hoff mix!

Well, we did have snow back on January 14!

The word is we all might see some snow beginning on Friday, April the 6th! As of Thursday, it was looking like most of the white stuff was going to fall off to out east and north. That said, everyone should keep a weather eye out!

Pancakes are back on my list of stuff to eat!

Sugar free versus regular syrup!
I happen to love certain foods; pasta, pies and pancakes! Up until recently, though, a heaping pile of cakes were high on my diet no-no list due the the incredibly high sugar and carbohydrate levels! After all, when you look closely at the overall nutrition, the real bad guy in the mix was the syrup! My generic bottle of 'Always Save' with a suggested serving size of four tablespoons of product contained 210 calories with 52 grams of carbs! Compare that to a bottle of Maple Grove Farms 'Sugar Free' syrup at just 15 calories and just 6 grams of carbs! I felt that this was doable and so I've included pancakes back into the fold of good to go meals!

So, how'd it taste? I noticed that the sugar free version appeared to be lighter in density, but I could not tell the difference when it came to taste!

Caution: The Maple Groves Farms product contains Phenylalanine which may cause symptoms of anxiety, jitteriness, and hyperactivity in children. Doses higher than 5,000 mg a day may be toxic and can cause nerve damage. High quantities of DL-phenylalanine may cause mild side effects such as nausea, heartburn, and headaches. But, before freaking out, Phenylalanine occurs naturally in many protein-rich foods, such as milk, eggs and meat. Phenylalanine also is sold as a dietary supplement. So, just as with sodas, try and keep your use of this product at conservative levels.

Is another mini Ice Age coming?

Part of the last Little Ice Age coincided with a period of low solar activity termed the Maunder Minimum (named after astronomer Edward Maunder). It's believed that a combination of lower solar output and high volcanic activity were major contributors (Free 1999, Crowley 2001), with changes in ocean circulation also having an effect on European temperatures (Mann 2002).

As we now enter into the later stages of solar cycle 24 (see chart), the amounts of solar radiation impacting the earth were down significantly! A year ago (July 2017), a chunk of ice roughly twice the size of Rhode Island broke off. What will happen to it? "It may remain in one piece but is more likely to break into fragments," Adrian Luckman, a professor at Swansea University and lead investigator of Project MIDAS, told Reuters. "Some of the ice may remain in the area for decades, while parts of the iceberg [may drift north into warmer waters]." And if a significant amount does melt, that could affect the deep thermohaline circulation belt of warm water that helps to keep parts of the northern hemisphere warmer than they would be otherwise! Such an occurrence could have been one of the reasons for the last mini Ice Age that occurred in Europe!

So, we have lots of fresh water entering our northern waters, a cooling solar cycle and all we're missing was the tremendous volumes of  carbon dioxide that were also emitted during that period of time. Oh wait! According to Climate.gov - 'Human activities emit 60 or more times the amount of carbon dioxide released by volcanoes each year. Large, violent eruptions may match the rate of human emissions for the few hours that they last, but they are too rare and fleeting to rival humanity’s annual emissions. In fact, several individual U.S. states emit more carbon dioxide in a year than all the volcanoes on the planet combined do.' OK....

So, are we heading towards another Ice Age of some sort? Well, no according to and article published by NASA, but they do admit that ongoing events may lead to some profound changes! Many scientists agree that perhaps the only effect that is helping is the global warming caused by us humans!
