Def: Parse - to analyze (something, as a speech or behavior) to
discover its implications or uncover a deeper meaning.
Politicians are
masters at the ability to parse the meanings of what they say in such
a way as to obscure another, deeper meaning. I would submit that President Obama holds a
PhD in this ability.
When the president stated that there
was not a 'smidgen of evidence' concerning corruption in the
IRS. This careful parsing of words is interesting in that it can be
taken in one of two ways; either he meant that there was absolutely
no corruption (and he's staking his honor on it) or that you
all haven't yet discovered the corruption (smiling like a
fox). I'd tend to believe in the second meaning. Just another example
of what a snake in the grass I believe this president has turned out to be!
